FAQ's
Where are you located?
Christ Church is located on Johnson Square (28 Bull Street), right in the heart of the Historic District of Savannah . We are a stately columned building on the east side of the square. Sunday parking may be found at any of the metered spaces in the area (parking is free on Sunday), or in our parking lot just south of the church building on the corner of Drayton and Congress Streets.
Our Parish House is located just off of Reynolds Square, 18 Abercorn St, across from the Bryan Street Parking Garage, next to the Hampton Inn. To enter the Parish House, please come through the iron gate by the garden, and buzz either "Secretary" or "Receptionist" on the door panel.
How do I join Christ Church?
Anyone wishing to join Christ Church is encouraged to speak to one of our clergy. Church membership is an important part of one's spiritual journey, and our clergy are prepared to help you consider the various commitments needed in making your membership meaningful and rewarding. Once you have decided upon Christ Church, please contact our Parish Secretary to request a letter of transfer from your previous church home. If you are unsure about your previous membership, contact Stephanie Lynch, our parish secretary or one of the clergy will help you determine the proper steps toward membership.
What about baptism, confirmation, marriage, or funerals?
Christ Church has a convenient hand-out that covers the practical matters concerning baptism, confirmation, marriage, and funerals. These hand-outs are made available at our Newcomer Luncheons and in the Parish Office. If you wish to receive a copy, please contact Stephanie Lynch of the Parish Office - we'll be happy to send you one.
How do I contact a priest?
The clergy of Christ Church are more than happy to speak with anyone who may need their attention. Simply contact our Parish Secretary for an appointment, or speak directly to the priest for a suitable time. Given the busy schedules of our clergy, appointments usually work best, but clergy will do their very best to respond to emergencies immediately.
