STUDENT MINISTRIES

  Purpose Statement:

The youth group at Christ Church exists to REACH non-Christian students for Christ.  CONNECT Christian students with other Christian students.  Help them to GROW in their faith.  Encourage them to DISCOVER their own ministry and teach them to LOVE God -- heart, soul, mind and body for the rest of their lives.

This purpose statement is built upon the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).

Our purposes our translated into practices our program strives for:

Worship is loving God with your entire mind, soul, and body forever.
Ministry is discovering the gifts God has given you to use in His service.
Evangelism is reaching non-Christians with the saving knowledge of the Gospel of Christ.
Fellowship is connecting Christian students to others in the Body.
Discipleship is growing in Christ through study, prayer, and discipline.
Every trip, event, and meeting will be built upon fulfilling one or more of these areas.

Our ministry is built on the following three presuppositions:
1.) God exists.
2.) The Bible is the totally accurate word of God.
3.) Jesus is the Savior of the world.
Every lesson and discussion will be built upon these non-negotionable truths.

Regular Programming :

Intermission (7th-12th grade EYC):  An "intermission" is a break or rest that comes between two acts. It is generally a time to relax, stretch, refocus, laugh, talk, snack, reflect on act one and prepare for act two. The purpose of Intermission is to provide a similar break for students between their regular activities of each week.  Every Sunday night from 5-7pm we meet together on the fourth floor of the Parish House (the Loft) to laugh, sing, pray, but most of all to be loved by God!

7th-12th grade Coffee & Sunday School Hour:  From 9:15-10:15 Sunday mornings students in 7-12th grade meet on the 4th floor of the Parish House (The Loft) for an hour of coffee, snacks, and a Biblical discussion on topics relevant to youth culture.

Fifty6 (5th & 6th Grade EYC):  5th & 6th grade students are in no-mans-land.  They are not children, but they are not yet youth.  That’s why we’ve created Fifty6.  This group will meet on the first Friday of every month (except for holidays) to gather for a time of fun and fellowship.  The places we go will vary from month to month, so make sure you check out the calendar, website, or call Joey to find out what and where we will be this month.  Parents are welcome to join us and help plan activities.

Student Missions: CCSM’s Student Missions program has a three-tiered approach based on Acts 1:8--"And you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth."  CCSM's Student Missions program is active through out year, and you can learn more about it by clicking the youth website link at the top of this page.
