THE REVEREND LIAM G. COLLINS, ASSISTANT FOR PASTORAL CARE AND SPIRITUAL LIFE

 

The Rev. Liam G. Collins was born in Nenagh, County Tipperary, Ireland. He received his B.A. in Philosophy from Mt. Mellery College and his M.Div. from St. Patrick’s College in Thurles, County Tipperary, Ireland. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Family Studies from Mercer University. He was ordained to the priesthood in the Roman Catholic Church on June 12, 1971, by the Archbishop of Cashel, Dr. Thomas Morris, in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Thurles. In August 1971, he came to the Catholic Diocese of Savannah and served several parishes including St. Mary’s, Savannah, until he was received into the Episcopal Church as a priest by The Rt. Rev. Henry I. Louttit, Jr. on June 11, 1996. He has served at St. Matthew’s, Savannah, St. Luke’s, Rincon and St. Paul’s, Savannah and was a long-tenured rector at St. Mark’s, Brunswick. He married his wife Mary Brennan on November 20, 1994. The Rev. Collins primary ministry at Christ Church is pastoral care and spiritual life. He provides a regular Christ Church presence and ministry at Savannah Squares and The Marshes at Skidaway and Summer Breeze and offers opportunities for worship on Sunday evenings at Christ Church.
