George Fergus, organ
Bring the whole family and enjoy the lighter side of Christmas with this concert by Director of Music George Fergus performed on the new Tricentennial Organ! Tap your toes to seasonal classics and fun carol arrangements, and request your favorite hymns and carols for a sing-along, all followed by a festive cup of hot chocolate and some Christmas cookies on the front porch of the church.
This concert partners with Project Smile, a non-profit dental mission based in Savannah serving underprivileged children in Belize since 1992. Every year, various teams of volunteer dentists, along with auxiliary personnel, travel to St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in Belize City where the team works in a permanent seven-chair dental treatment facility in an unused classroom at St. Mary’s School. Gradually, the program has expanded to meet other needs at the school, including providing hot lunches, playground safety and equipment, and even a computer lab.
Admission | This concert is FREE and open to the public. To manage capacity, ticket reservations are requested. A $10 donation is suggested; donations can be made online when reserving tickets, or via the basket available as you enter the church.
Runtime | The program will last about 60 minutes.
Children | Children are welcome and invited to attend this concert.
Parking | Street parking is free on Sundays, but be sure to leave enough time to find a spot in the busy downtown area.
