What is “formation”?
“Christian formation” gets to the heart of what we do as a Church community. Formation is more than gaining intellectual knowledge; it’s about who we are, inside and out. Everything we do at church helps form us as the body of Christ: praying, singing, receiving the sacraments, chatting, hugging, eating, learning, and sharing the peace. Classes that engage our intellect are an important part of that formation. So, too, are social events and opportunities for worship. Just like the disciples, we are not “educated” into being followers of Jesus; we are formed.
