George Fergus, Director of Music, holds a Masters in Organ Performance from Yale University, where he had the opportunity to perform on some of the greatest pipe organs in the United States. He served for six years on the music staff at Washington National Cathedral, first hired as the Gerre Hancock Fellow in Church Music, a one-year position. He was hired to the full-time staff at the conclusion of his fellowship and was appointed Associate Director of Music and Assistant Organist one year later. While at WNC, he managed and oversaw the expansion of the Chorister Program and assisted with planning and project management for the upcoming $14-million organ project to be completed in 2028. George has won several prestigious awards for organ performance and is known for the colorful, creative orchestral sounds he can coax out of even the most reluctant instruments. He brings an expert ear for sound color to every organ he approaches.
Alice Edwards, Organ Committee Chair, is a management consultant who specializes in helping organizations execute large, complex projects. As co-lead of PwC’s US insurance claims practice, she helped clients recover from catastrophic events, consulting with clients facing difficult decisions following damage to complex systems and structures, including historic buildings and churches. Her clients have included the Ecclesiastical Insurance Company in the UK, and the Archdiocese of Newark, NJ. She holds a Masters in Project Management from Bournemouth University in the U.K. Alice is a former CCE vestry member, led the search that culminated in hiring George Fergus, has had a life-long engagement with church music, and currently sings in the choir.
David Seyle’s official title at Christ Church is United Methodist Pastor-in-Residence. Before joining the clergy at Christ Church, David was the President and Dean of Andrew College in Cuthbert, GA. Trained as an organist, David went on to earn a Doctor of Ministry from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He initially joined the Andrew College faculty as a professor of religion, and entered the administration in 1995 after being named the academic dean. He was later selected to be dean of the college, then president in 2007. At Andrew David led two capital campaigns, worked to strengthen the college’s endowment, and co-authored the strategic plan and a multimillion dollar federal Title III grant. David and his wife Claudia have sung in the CCE choir for many years.
Molly Carrott Taylor holds a master’s degree in arts administration from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in art history from Connecticut College. Molly began her career at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and later led arts and cultural development on the World Trade Center site for the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation. After relocating to Savannah in 2008, Molly continued her work at Telfair Museums where she served as Director of Development and later Deputy Director, focusing on museum management, strategy, and fundraising. In early 2020, Molly launched a consulting practice providing both nonprofit and for-profit companies with specialized business development, client acquisition, marketing, and fundraising services. She is now Executive Director at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum where she will expand engagement with diverse audiences in support of a long-term $10m capital expansion.
Tom Sheehan (consultant) is the Organist and Associate Director of Music at Washington National Cathedral, where he currently oversees the ongoing organ restoration project for the Cathedral’s historic 1937 E. M. Skinner instrument. Tom holds degrees from the Curtis Institute of Music, Westminster Choir College, and Boston University, and is one of the most sought-after organ consultants today. Recent and current projects include the Pittsburgh Episcopal Cathedral, and St. James by-the-Sea in La Jolla, CA.
