Gather
Opportunities to share life together
Sunday Morning Receptions
Join us each Sunday following the 10:30 a.m. service in the undercroft (the lower level of the church building) to enjoy coffee, lemonade, and refreshments as you meet and connect with other churchgoers. This is a wonderful time of connection for longtime members and first time visitors alike. Don’t miss the second Sunday of each month, when the birthdays of the month are celebrated over cake!
Neighborhood Parties
Each September, Christ Church celebrates the beginning of a new “program year” with parties that take place simultaneously in each geographic region where Christ Church members are found: South Carolina, Richmond Hill, downtown, Isle of Hope, Southside, Ardsley Park, the Islands, Skidaway, and every place in between. This is a great opportunity to get to know your literal Christ Church “neighbors!” Subscribe to our newsletter for information about your next upcoming neighborhood gathering.
Neighborhood Care Teams
Christ Church is blessed with a wide map! On any given Sunday morning, parishioners will have traveled from Hilton Head, Richmond Hill, and every place in between. Building this community means supporting one another through times of struggle, transition, or change. Our Neighborhood Care Teams are a ministry dedicated to this purpose. Each Care Team serves a geographical area where Christ Church members are found. When a pastoral need arises—be it an illness or the birth of a new baby—the Neighborhood Care Team is there to reach out in support.
In the Spirit
“In the Spirit” is a discussion group for those who seek to deepen their faith through meaningful conversations. Join us each second and fourth Monday at The 5-Spot in Sandfly (7360 Skidaway Rd), where you can grab a drink or a bite as we spend time together. We gather at 5:30 p.m. and begin our discussion at 6:00. A different topic is explored at each gathering. “In the Spirit” offers a rich blend of informal connection and deep discussion. For more information, contact the Rev. Samantha McKean.
Book Group
The Christ Church book group meets in the undercroft on the second Thursday morning of each month to discuss an assigned book. A volunteer in the group provides light refreshments. The book list is established through recommendations from group members and voted on in December for the next year. All are welcome to attend regularly or occasionally. Contact Deacon Patti Davis to learn more.
