The Organ

The organ at Christ Church plays a central role in the communal worship life of the congregation. It was installed in 1972 by Harrison & Harrison Organ Builders, a British firm operating out of Durham, UK. At its installation, it contained 50 ranks; numerous additions and alterations have been made since its inauguration in 1973, most recently in 2006 by the Ontko & Young Co. of Charlestown, S.C. The present instrument comprises 50 stops and 61 ranks.

Let every instrument be tuned for praise!
Let all rejoice who have a voice to raise!
And may God give us faith to sing always
Alleluia! Amen!
— Fred Pratt Green, 1971
